Nativity Scenes in the Tower
Christmas is coming also to the tower of st. Nicholas church in Malá Strana. The way to the top floors is now decorated with traditional Czech nativity scenes borrowed from the Třebechovice Museum of Nativity Scenes. As the visitors climb to the top of the tower with the reconstructed observatory used originally by the State Security in the communist era, they can admire a nativity scene created by a prominent Czech painter Mikuláš Alš and the Prague Nativity Scene by a well-known Czech artist Josef Wenig.
Kajka – former observation post of the Communist secret police
From Thursday 15 April 2010, visitors to Prague have the opportunity to see the Lesser Town through the eyes of secret agents. After a demanding reconstruction, the former observation post of the state secret police is opened to public in St. Nicholas Church in the Lesser Town Square. The authentic premises as well as the accompanying exhibition are unique in the Czech Republic. Although there were more than 70 observation posts in Prague, KAJKA in the Lesser Town is the only one that is made publicly open
